Cat's Spring Calendar
Client: Self Study (Stationary Design / Photography)
Objective: To create a calendar that promotes the joy of childhood toys and the natural world.
Solution: Created a calendar focusing on cat dolls exploring the spring time flowers. Each month is inspired by the color of the birthstones.
Background: This calendar was made with the intention of making both adults and children enjoy cute cats and beauty of nature's flowers. The miniature cat dolls called Calico Critters / Sylvanian Families were used here for their timeless feeling and varieties. The cats were photographed as a depiction of a child's exploration outdoors.

Process
Four concept sketches were made. It was important that the audience could see the cats within the environment. The bottom of the calendar needed to match the photo of each month and was illustrated.
All the spreads for each month utilized the color of the birthstones. Each cat doll was dressed to match. This was to make the calendar feel more subtly personal to the viewer.
Many photos were taken outside in various locations. Multiple shots were taken to get to the final result.
