Art in the Streets
Client: Self-Study (Poster Design)
Objective: Promote a future exhibition of street art to young adults.
Solution: Created a poster that emphasizes street art and used warm colors and imagery to reflect that it is a summer event.
Background: The "Art in the Streets" exhibition in 2011 was one of the Museum of Contemporary Art's popular exhibition. They were the first museum to survey grafitti and street art. This poster was designed to be for a potential future exhibition.

Process

An inspiration board was made with works from Shepared Fairy, David Choe, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Layout sketches were made with significance of balancing text and imagery. From there, they were inked and scanned. Next, was digitializing the piece. The far right image shows the rejected elements and previous color palette. It was important that the poster attracts young adults and visualizes street art style.
